SMALL BATCH: With every intent to keep the design and making as hand made as possible, we only make small batches of products to reduce wastage of fabric and dyestuff.
FABRICS: We try our best to use organic and sustainable fabrics where possible when making our products. Most silks are deadstock fabrics. All linen, cotton and bamboo silk viscose are GOTS certified. Cushion inners are sourced from a U.K supplier and is RDA certified.
INKS AND DYES: Here are Jess Chan Textiles we endeavour to be sustainable within the dyeing and printing process. Some natural dyes used within the dyeing process are sourced locally and seasonally and are from bio waste, such as onion skins and avocado pits/skins. All natural dyes used for dried and re-used to exhaust their colour.
PACKAGING: We do our best to use as little plastic as possible when packaging your orders, using recyclable paper envelopes and tape. All bubble wrap is re-used from other deliveries.
MANUFACTURE AND AFTERCARE: Some products are sourced from reputable companies and when possible manufactured in the United Kingdom. All textiles are dyed by Jess Chan in the UK.
NATURAL DYE AFTERCARE: Due to the nature of natural dyes frequent washing will fade the colour. Use a pH balanced detergent when washing your item, do not use a bleaching agent. Wash by hand or on a delicate cycle at 30 degree C. Do not tumble dry. Iron on a low/med setting.
ACCURACY OF GOODS: Here at Jess Chan we try to ensure that all photos are accurate and representable of goods. However as all products are hand dyed there may be slight variations in colour, design and print.
